terra' un seminario dal titolo
HANOHANO: A Deep Ocean Antineutrino Observatory

I discuss the science potential of a deep ocean antineutrino observatory
being developed in Hawaii. The design allows for relocation between
different sites. A site near(about 60 km) a reactor complex allows
precision measurement of neutrino mixing angles as well as mass hierarchy
and theta_13. At a mid-Pacific location, the flux of anti-neutrinos from
Uranium and thorium in the earth's mantle can be measured. A deployment at
other locations can test lateral inhomogeneities. In addition, such a
detector is also sensitive to a wide variety of other signals, e.g. relic
supernova neutrinos, proton decay into kaonic modes, etc.

Siete tutti cordialmente invitati.
