                        terra' un seminario dal titolo:

                               How the Sun shines

                                   Abstract:
Solar neutrinos can test our understanding of stellar evolution codes, being
unique in determining the metal composition in the core. New determinations of
solar metal abundances (by meteorites and solar spectroscopy) lead Standard
Solar Model calculations to conflict with helioseismological measurements,
showing discrepancies that extend from the convection zone to the solar core
and therefore not easily assigned to deficiencies in the modelling of the solar
convection zone. I will discuss the updated neutrino predictions of the standard
solar model and the implications in particle physics and astrophysics of current
and future precise (better than 5%) solar sub-MeV neutrino experiments.

                        Tutti gli studenti sono invitati
