Nuclear Structure
Experimental Group
The Experimental Nuclear Structure Group studies the properties of the nucleus in its excited states by the measurement of the electromagnetic emission.
The main interests of the group is concentrated in the study of :
The g-decay of the Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR),
The damping of rotational motion in excited high spin nuclei
The Development of a new generation of gamma ray detectors
The Group has its own experimental apparatus, HECTOR, and participates to several international collaborations EUROBALL, ECC TMR.
The Experimental Nuclear Structure Group is composed by researchers from University and I.N.F.N. and by several graduating or PhD students.
